We are currently searching for an energetic, organized “Product Manager” to work in our Milwaukee Japan office. Successful candidates will have experience in the Industrial tools segment with well-defined marketing & user development skills.  The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail will be key.  We invite you to apply and learn more about our company & this exciting opportunity.

Job Summary & Responsibilities:

Responsible for planning, growing and managing Milwaukee, Japan product categories while maintaining a cooperative relationship with internal and external customers.

  • Develop yearly strategy & plan. Initiate new product development efforts to grow sales and profits in Milwaukee, Japan product categories
  • Proactively manage portfolio of products within the categories
  • Implement and monitor strategies including product positioning, forecasting, cost reductions, product updates and obsolescence
  • Conduct market & user-based research to understand the strategic, tactical, and new product development needs within the category
  • Work collaboratively with HQ, PM team to ensure all new product development is meeting all the required targets and is being delivered on time
  • Develop comprehensive commercial plan to support all new product launches with “How we win; training modules, product specific videos & collateral, web campaign, channel or trade specific strategies, as well as a full promotional plan
  • Collaborate with HQ brand & channel marketing to develop appropriate programs and promotions to deliver quarterly and annual budget
  • Participate in key customer presentations, trade shows and other industry events as needed to promote MIL, Japan product categories
  • Act as the internal and external focal point for the resolution of product issues – own your category
  • Attend trade shows, seminars and other industry events as necessary to stay abreast of market and industry trends

Building value added relationships with users.

  • Must be comfortable and knowledgeable working on a commercial & residential jobsite: end user visits, making sales calls with Milwaukee sale & distributor sales force, and field testing

Providing feedback to Senior management:

  • Analyze and interpret findings and report to senior management
  • Assess and analyze new business or product opportunities and be able to articulate to management your findings and recommendation
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of competitive & market information including product catalogs, price lists, current promotions, new product introductions and regulatory issues


Job Qualifications

Requirements:

 

Academic & Experience:

  • 3 - 6years successful Product Marketing or Product Manager experience
  • Practical minded with a technical / mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn and apply new product or technical knowledge
  • Position requires accomplished analytic, written, verbal and interpersonal skills plus demonstrated track record of achievements in positions of increasing responsibilities, problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Determination to build a career with a forward-thinking business

General:

  • Languages –Business level of Japanese and English
  • Good IT skills e.g., MS Office, PowerPoint, Internet, CRM etc
  • Strong problem-solving skill by taking initiative by oneself
  • Excellent planning and time management skills
  • Teamwork mind-set and respectful communication attitude (beyond department)
